Product Description
The entirely natural protein bar. 20 g Protein. High in protein. No trans fat. 23 Vitamins and minerals. When work feels like a workout. I know that feeling. Throughout high school and well into my twenties, most jobs put my body through the wringer on a daily basis. Back then, I didn’t care about natural ingredients or organic foods; I do now. And that’s the principle behind our Builder’s Bar. It’s an entirely natural protein bar for those who put their own body th…
That’s why I like to eat these. It’s also why Subscribe and Save is gone for the Chocolate and instead Harbor Country Bike & Hobby is charging $27.11 + $7.20 shipping for a single box. They’d better come with a golden ticket or these people can die (i.e. chapter 7). Hey Jerks: if you’re still in business when the Peanut Butter comes back just leave it alone!

BEWARE: I purchased 5 x 12 packs of these bars and two days after receiving them, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) comes out with a notice of a potential Salmonella contamination with the peanut butter in all their types of bars. I paid about $1.50 each after calculating the cost of the packs and shipping. I called Clif to get a refund and they are only giving $1 refund for each bar which I feel is unfair.
Another issue to keep in mind is that their other flavors are made at the same location and a notice on the back of the bars say the following: “MAY CONTAIN TRACES OF DAIRY, PEANUTS AND OTHER TREE NUTS”. Now who is to say that their other flavors and bars are not contaminated as well??? I won’t be purchasing any Clif bars in the future.

I’m very good looking and I have to strive very hard to stay very good looking.
These bars help me stay very good looking. 20g decent quality protein, 20g sugar tho.
either way the taste is tops. vanilla almond is a little too sweet for me, but the peanut butter and chocolate are both awe to the some.
like most bars, they have a low meliting point so never leave these in your car or anything remotely warm
you will not get as good looking as me purely by eating cliff bars.. (2 periods there for emphasis) Cliff bars are only a small part of the lifestyle. But you all have to start somewhere.
one last thing. the best deal is the 18 pack.

I’m giving this a ‘4′ because my husband likes them and took them from me to use after his weight lifting work-outs. But I tried one first: the outside chocolate was a bit crumbly probably due to shipping and storage. The taste was fair to real good for a high protein bar that doesn’t use a lot of sugar alcohols to sweeten it, depending on your taste for such things. In other words it’s not super-sweet but the sucralose (Splenda) gets the job done, if I remember correctly. It is SUPER for keeping you from getting hungry due to the fact that it has real carbs, not play carbs in it, to match it’s high amount of protein – probably could be used for the Zone diet. You can last hours and hours on it. It’s more than a meal. (This is NOT a dieter’s bar, although with careful planning could be used as such.) We’ve tried a lot of bars and this is the best high protein bar yet that doesn’t rely on sugar alcohols (otherwise, stick to South Beach Diet Bars.)

I agree with most posters that these seem like good protein bars and taste good. But in the ingredients list, the first ingredient is soy protein isolate. That automatically bombs for me. My reading and limited research believe soy to be an inferior and cheap substitute protein. Whey protein isolate is a higher grade of protein and has more understanding in the long term effects of eating a lot of it.
I’m not comfortable with eating soy since all cheap protein bars seem to contain it.
