Tasty Ham And Cheese Pancake Recipe

Pancakes are loved by just about everyone; whether enjoyed for breakfast, or just about whenever you get the craving. How you eat your pancakes is only limited by your own imagination. So if you like them but are looking to try something new, then this ham and cheese pancake recipe should greatly please your taste buds!

The ingredients included in this ham and cheese pancake recipe are measured for a batter made from scratch. Before you can start preparing your batter, you will need to pre-heat your skillet or griddle. You can grease it as well, either with flavorless cooking spray or some vegetable oil.

Before you begin, there are a few things you will need to pull together, only a few basic kitchen tools. You will need a skillet or griddle, a mixing bowl, a large spatula to help you flip those pancakes and a wooden spoon (any spoon will do though if you don’t have a wooden one).

Now for the ingredients. Pancake batter is a simple form of bread, so you will most likely have all the ingredients on hand. You will need: 135g of self-rising flour, 1 egg, 125mL of milk, a little salt, a cup of chopped ham, and half a cup of any cheese (most popular being cheddar cheese). A teaspoon of fresh dill is also good.

Recipe For Potato Flapjacks

Thanksgiving is over and your refrigerator is loaded with leftovers. In addition to all that turkey, you still have mounds of mashed potatoes taking up space. The last thing you want is for them to go uneaten and turn bad. So what you need is a potato pancake recipe that will help use up those leftover potatoes.

People may love them the next day, but after that, they may start wishing for something else, especially once the gravy is gone! A great way to use up those extra potatoes is to turn them into something entirely new-pancakes. You may find your family wishing there were leftovers of these.

Before you get started, check to see that you have all the necessary ingredients. Of course you have the potatoes. You also need flour, milk, an egg, onion, vegetable oil (canola, corn or a vegetable blend) and a little salt and pepper. You may substitute bacon drippings for the oil.

To make four pancakes you will need two cups of potatoes. Add to the mashed potatoes one egg, 1 / 2 cup of flour, three tablespoons of diced onion (more to taste) and 1 / 4 cup of milk. Thoroughly mix together and form four equally sized patties. If the mixture is too sticky, shaping the patties on wax paper or tin foil might make things easier for you.

Delicious Ways to Eat Healthy Whole Wheat Pancakes

Many people are making a significant effort to eat more healthy, especially in the morning. Over the years in my house we have tried many different things, but one thing has always stayed with us, pancakes. Pancakes are just so easy to make and can be enjoyed in so many different ways. We of course try to keep our pancakes as healthy as possible.

The thing about pancakes however, is that they are so easily made into a not so healthy meal. Pancakes in general don’t have too much about them individually that isn’t so healthy, it’s what we put on them that causes the problems. We want them to be tasty so cover them with all sorts of things.

Eating healthy of course requires that our pancakes be whole wheat. But even whole wheat pancakes covered in sugary corn syrup are not healthy any more. With out the tasty additives you have a fairly dry non-yummy meal. Probably better still than plain toast, but still not that treat we look for in a pancake.
